Ergoloid
Ergoloid is an alkaloid used to treat dementias. It is a newer class of nootropic used to combat Alzheimer's related dementia. It's not well known how ergoloid mesylates work but laboratory research indicates that they mimic or stimulate a number of neurotransmitters in the brain.

Unlike other nootropics, ergoloid has the ability act on specific parts of the brain (hippocampus). While there are no controlled clinical trials, anecdotal reports on patients with Alzheimer's have shown the drug does improve cognition, memory and attention span. Ergoloid should not to be taken by individuals who have allergies or who have a history of psychiatric problems.
Other adverse effects including nausea, bloating and blurred vision. Manufacturers of the drug claim that for the most effective response, the drug should be taken three times a day (3 mg).
The memory and concentration span generally improve in a period of 3-4 weeks. Unlike the nost other nootropics, ergoloid can be combined with piracetam for more effective results.
