Dextroamphetamine is primarily used in the treatment of attention deficit hyperactive disorder and is quite effective. Sometimes, it is even used to treat narcolepsy. Even though not approved, the drug has the ability to induce weight loss.
Dextroamphetamine has also been used to treat depression which is resistant to conventional drugs and is frequently taken by military pilots who need to fly long distances. Because the drug does have the ability cause physical dependence and cause withdrawal symptoms, in the United States its use is strictly monitored by the FDA.
